Join me September 2026 for a painting retreat on the Mediterranean island of Zakynthos, Greece 🇬🇷
I am very excited to invite you to join me fall 2026 in Greece for a week-long luxury painting retreat taught by me on the island of Zakynthos!
We will paint en plein air while staying at a serene Greek villa in the quiet beachside town of Planos on the island of Zakynthos. The gorgeous venue stands atop a rocky hill overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea; let the warm Mediterranean light, vivid colors, and tranquil pace of island life spark your creativity as you hone your painting skills amongst like-minded artists.
We will paint daily at the villa— in the sunlit studio and cliffside terraces— while enjoying authentic Ionian cuisine prepared by a private chef and using family recipes. All meals are included in the retreat and unlimited wine is available at dinner.
We'll also take day trips for inspiration to Navagio Beach (site of the famed MV Panagiotis shipwreck) and Zante Town, the capital of Zakynthos. We'll explore the island's coast by boat while taking in the sea-carved caves and tall cliffs that rise straight from the shoreline.
In Zante Town, we'll view gorgeous Venetian architecture and take in the cozy charm of traditional Greek houses; you'll weave into your work these once-in-a-lifetime experiences to create stunning paintings that blend your style with the vibrant pulse of these historic locales.
I'm already feeling inspired just by looking at these photos!
I will share my techniques for painting light, shadow and color, and my approach to plein air. From lessons on quick studies to large, detailed work, artists will gain significant insight into my process and learn how to translate that knowledge into their own work.
In addition, students will learn creative best practices in order to discover and enhance their style and approach to their artwork. Through conversations with me and creative exploration, students will cultivate a better understanding of their own creative direction.
We will experience the wealth of Ionian cuisine with tantalizing dishes prepared by a private chef. The venue earned its foodie destination moniker thanks to its family recipes passed down through generations and fresh ingredients sourced from local markets or grown on-site.
The retreat includes all meals.
